The Recorder’s Office is a vital part of our community as it records and permanently maintains land records and related documents in archival form.
The legal documents accepted for recording in our office are governed by the Ohio Revised Code. The Recorder and her deputies have knowledge of and use over a thousand statues as they apply to our office.
Examples of documents recorded in our office are Deeds, Mortgages, Release of Mortgages, liens such as Federal Tax, Worker’s Comp, Mechanics Liens, General Partnerships and Plats of Subdivision, Township Zoning Resolutions and Amendments are filed and maintained. Military Service Discharge Records (DD-214) are recorded and a certified copy issued at no charge.
The Marion County Recorder’s Office has a public records policy in place in compliance with HB 9 and is posted at all times in the office.
