The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of contract (part-time) deputy sheriff. 

Applicants must be 21 years old at the time of employment, have a high school diploma (or equivalency) and possess an active OPOTA Ohio peace officer certificate. Applicants must pass a stringent background check, physical and drug screen. Starting salary for contract deputies is $19.00 an hour. Contract deputy sheriffs must be willing to work a variety of hours (up to 28 hours a week), including some nights and weekends. Contract deputy sheriffs are tasked with security for the probation department and also transporting prisoners to court and halfway houses. Contract deputy sheriffs also patrol the five villages that contract with the sheriff’s office for extra policing.
