The Marion based group Marion Browns Backers are a group of Cleveland Brown football fans who are also animal advocates. The group is teaming up with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Dog Pound to help out our animal friends, while at the same time being good sports about the Brown’s winless (0-16) 2017 season.

The event started January 1st, 2018 by the Marion County Dog Pound offering $16 dog adoptions for all dogs being held there.  The Marion Browns Backers will in turn donate 1600 pounds of dog food to the dog pound and other dog shelters to help feed the animals throughout the year.  Lastly, Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Taz” has been diagnosed with cancer and is not expected to survive. The Marion Browns Backers were saddened by this news and want to help raise money for a new K-9.  The group has created a GoFundMe page made to raise funds to go towards purchasing a new K-9 for the sheriff’s office as well as buying dog food for area dog shelters.
